Product Description

Find incredible versatility and comfort in our Thermodown 30 down sleeping quilt, one of Backpacking Magazine's "Best Sleeping Bags of 2019". With excellent materials and performance, your search for a great warm weather backcountry quilt ends here!

Unmatched Versatility

Backcountry quilts offer incredible versatility that is unmatched by traditional sleeping bags. On cold nights, our quilts can be easily closed up to form a standard mummy sleeping bag. Even the foot box can be closed up with cinch cords to keep the warmth in.

When the weather warms up, open up the quilt to provide the ventilation needed to keep you nice and comfortable. You can even adjust comfort throughout a backpacking trip as the weather changes.

Finally, use it as a simple blanket while enjoying a backcountry meal or high alpine sunset.

The beauty of quilts is that they can be adapted to suit almost everyone, in almost every situation. There's no need to have several sleeping bags for different seasons or compromise with the same one throughout the year.

Superior Insulation

Each quilt is filled with 16 ounces of high quality 700-fill power down (17 ounces for Long version) for amazing loft to tackle those cool summer nights above the tree line. However, the added warmth does not compromise on size and weight. The quilt comes in at only 2 lb. (2 lb. 2 oz. for Long version) and packs down to just 9 x 6.5 in.

Accessories

The quilt comes with an adjustable strap to easily secure it to your sleeping pad. It will keep you on your pad at night and also prevent any drafts while you sleep.

In addition, we provide a durable compression sack. If you pair our quilt with a compact and lightweight air pad, such as our popular ReCharge UL insulated pad, you can fit both inside the sleeping bag compartment of most multi-day backpacks.

Finally, between trips, use the included mesh storage bag to properly store the quilt.

For complete waterproof protection, consider our 10L version of our ultralight waterproof stuff sacks (sold separately).

How do I care for my new down quilt?

  1. When you first receive the quilt, run it in the dryer at the low-temperature or air fluff setting for about 10 minutes to loosen up the down that has been compressed during the shipping process.
  2. If you need to re-distribute any of the down filling inside the quilt, simply fold the quilt in half lengthwise and shake it. Gravity will cause the down to slowly migrate from the sides of the quilt to the middle where it will provide the best insulation. Another method is to lay your quilt out on a flat surface and gently move your hand over the baffles, starting from the sides and moving towards the center.
  3. When heading out on the trail, use the included compression sack to protect the quilt and also reduce the amount of space it takes up in your pack. Use care when stuffing the quilt into the compression sack.
  4. Between trips, always store your quilt using the included mesh storage sack.
  5. Always wash your quilt by hand or a front-load tumble washer. Never use a top load washer. Never use bleach.

What is your return/exchange policy?

We offer 60 days to accommodate any returns or exchanges of non-defective products. In some cases, we can accommodate returns and exchanges past 60 days, but these will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Any returns after 60 days will only be offered store credit.

What items are eligible for a return?

To be eligible for a return and refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

If you've purchased a tent or tarp and would like to set it up in your backyard, please do so on a dry, clear day to keep the tent/tarp as clean as possible. Pitch the tent/tarp on dry grass if possible and use other stakes if you have them available. This will keep the tent/tarp and stakes in an unused condition to facilitate a return.

If items sent back for a return/exchange show clear signs of use (excessive dirt, animal hair, etc.), the return/exchange will be rejected and the items will be shipped back.

Are shipping fees refundable?

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the initial cost of shipping your order (if any) will be deducted from your refund.

Is return shipping free?

No, the cost of return shipping will be subtracted from the refund amount. We will provide a prepaid return label for the return shipment. The cost of return shipping will be provided to you along with the prepaid return label.

Please note that due to our shipping volume, we have access to significantly lower shipping rates than retail. As a result, the cost of the return shipping will be much lower, resulting in a higher refund.

To initiate a return/exchange, please email us at support@pariaoutdoorproducts.com with the following information:

  • Your original order number
  • The items to be returned/exchanged

This ensures that the shipment will be trackable and insured.

Once the returned items are delivered and inspected (please allow 1-2 weekdays for inspection), we will issue your refund or exchange.

When a refund is processed, a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment and you will receive an email notification. Please allow 2-5 business days for the credit to appear.

As good as they claim.

Comfy. Warm. And … floofy. Unpack it early and while you’re boiling water for your dinner, this will expand in an ultra-soft and comfortable delight.

Amazing!!!

I had ordered a back packing quilt for my son for Christmas. Well the carrier decided to switch destinations (we had moved not long ago) and the quilt went to the wrong address. I contacted customer support with Paria and let me tell you they are the best! They quickly responded and as soon as they saw I was not going to receive my package they sent me another. It made it just in time for Christmas. Needless to say my son was happy Christmas morning. I was so pleased with the customer service that I also purchased my son a gift card from Paria. I let him know what had happened (after Christmas of course) and he had stated that he had heard nothing but wonderful things about Paria. Paria was always quick to respond and also kept me up to date. Now my son has used his quilt and it was during about a 28 degree night. It kept him all cozy as he put it. He also stated that back packing with it was a breeze because of the light weight. So thank you Paria. You all are wonderful and I now know where to go for all of my sons back packing needs!

Fantastic for spring and early fall

So I got this in early 2023 as a top quilt for my hammock setup and after spending a good half dozen weekends or so with this quilt I can honestly say I love it. I've got it down to as low as 38° with just a pair of sweatpants, wool socks, and a long sleeve Long John shirt and stayed pretty toasty. The only complaint if there was one is with me being a little more of a rotund individual who tends to move their legs a lot in their sleep I did find that the snap at the top of the zipper didn't always hold with my movement and would sometimes partially unzip the bottom of the quilt in the middle of the night. But it only really unzipped to about the halfway mark so my feet still stayed warm.
All in all for the wait and price of this I am thoroughly pleased with the purchase. I wouldn't take it below 36 to 38° without dressing decently warm along with it.
Also shipping was exceptionally fast!

I'm impressed

I bought the 30-degree quilt and used it for the first time last weekend (late April) for an overnight in a shelter on the Appalachian Trail in north Georgia. I typically use a silk bag liner (which keeps the sleeping bag or quilt cleaner and is easier to wash, and it adds 5 to 7 degrees to the insulating value); I also employed it this time. This was my first time using a quilt instead of a bag. The flexibility is awesome. I started the night in the 50s with the footwell cinched closed, but when my feet got too warm, I could easily loosen it to let more air in. Then a cold front with rain moved in around 3:00 a.m., and as the temperature dropped it was easy to close the lower section and draw the quilt closer around me. Overnight temperatures dropped to upper to mid 40s, I think. I was comfortable the whole time--by that I mean that I sometimes woke up too warm, but with the quilt it was easy to make adjustments to sleep cooler and more comfortably. Way more flexibility than a sleeping bag. And lighter weight than a bag to carry on the trail. Even though I haven't experienced it, I think that Pariah's 30-degree rating is accurate, if you carefully wrap it around you in that sort of weather and wear appropriate clothing. I will probably buy the 15-degree quilt to round out my collection. I am a quilt convert!

Great quilt

Tested it out over the weekend and worked great. Feels like great quality for the money. My only hesitation is that the straps on the compression sack doesn’t have a stopper knot so if you go too loose, the strap will come undone. It might be a feature and not a bug. Otherwise, loved all of it!
